DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS
The Southern California Fair is proud to participate in the Dollars for Scholars Program. The fair’s association with Dollars for Scholars as a recognized chapter has the potential to double the value of scholarships awarded by the fair. Numerous colleges and universities are affiliated with the Dollars for Scholars Program and may have the ability to add up to twice the value of the original scholarship award. Scholarship recipients should inquire with their selected institutions of learning for details. The Ethel M. Silver and Farmer’s Daughter scholarships are each recognized as Dollars for Scholars scholarships.

The Southern California Fair is excited to announce the 2008 Farmers Daughters Scholarship Program. This program is available to all girls in Riverside County ages 16-19 as of October 1st 2008. Our goal is to combine tradition with updated fun, giving girls the chance to be treated like royalty while representing the fair!
You do not have to be an actual daughter of a farmer to participate in this thrilling program. Any girl ready to have fun while earning scholarship money qualifies. The Farmers Daughters Scholarship Program has been available for decades, and now we are throwing some modernized excitement into the mix. In the months leading up to the fair, the girls (with fair chaperone) will participate in a number of great outings as a group where they will meet new people and be treated like queens. Some of these events include parades, charity events, and festivals. But the first and the most exciting, is when the girls go Shopping! The girls will get to go shopping with the chaperone to get FREE clothes to wear during the competition, AND afterwards they get to keep them!
During fairtime the girls will compete in fun contests such as, sewing, goat milking, tractor driving and more, not to mention the mystery contests we throw in just to make it really interesting! Mystery Contests, in the past have included, “Craziest Hair” and “Extreme Makeover” where the families get involved. The girls earn points for their application, interview, participation, and fair-time contests. All of the finalists will receive a scholarship ranging from $500.00-$1250.00.
So if you are, or know an outgoing and goal driven young lady aged 16-19 in Riverside County, this is a great opportunity to have fun, meet lifelong friends, get new clothes, free admission and food everyday at the fair, and much more! All while earning scholarship money for your future college careers!
If you have any questions regarding this or any other scholarship opportunities with the Southern California Fair, please feel free to call our fair office and speak with Sherrie Kadella at 951-657-4221 or email (click here)Exhibits@Socalfair.com
