This is a fun event.  At the SoCalFair's hay bucking contest, contestants must move bales of hay a pre-described distance and load them into the back of a truck.

Hay Bucking Competition General Rules
​

 

  1. REGISTRATION

    1. Entries will not be accepted at “check-in gate” on the day of the event.

    2. All entries not received in the Administration Office by 5:00 pm on Sept 15thwill not be included in the program.

 

  1. CHECK-IN GATE

  1. Gate opens on the Southside (Gate A) of the arena at 1 pm.

    1. Contestants ONLY will be permitted to enter the arena at the check-in gate prior to or during the event. All others will NOT be permitted on the infield at any time.

    2. Contestants will be offered 4 (four) admission tickets per contestants for friends or family to use to gain access to the grounds the day of the event. Tickets will be mailed to the address listed on the entry form.

  2. Gate closes 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. NO EXCEPTIONS

  3. All equipment will be inspected at the check-in gate prior to entering the arena.

  4. Equipment that has been checked in will not be permitted to exit the arena prior to their event.

    1. Violation of this rule will result in automatic disqualification – NO EXCEPTIONS

 

  1. CONTESTANTS

    1. All contestants must be 16 years of age or older – NO EXCEPTIONS

      1. Proof of age may be required at check-in.

      2. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older for all events except tractor races.

  1. All contestants must attend the mandatory contestant meeting 30 minutes prior to the start of opening ceremonies.

  2. Any contestant whom the judges feel is unable to compete at any time and for any reason may be disqualified and forfeit all entry fees.

  3. No alcoholic beverages of any kind will be allowed on the grounds or in the infield at any time. Contestants will not be allowed to enter events and will be disqualified if these conditions are not strictly adhered to.

  4. No knives, guns or other weapons are permitted in vehicles or on the infield.

 

 

  1. Contestants will be responsible to be in the arena and in position at the time their event is called. Anyone not in position will be disqualified for delay of event. Do not wait for personal notification.

  2. All contestants MUST be at the start line or other designated location as directed by

    1. Contestants not present at the starting area when their event is called will be disqualified and their entry fee will not be refunded

  1. All contestants must remain with their equipment prior to and until the finish of the event.

 

D. COMPETITION and PROTESTS

  1. All events will be started by a train horn.

  2. All events will be a “standing start” format.

  3. All events will be run against the clock.

  4. All judges’ decisions are final. Once decisions are reached by the committee, they will be made public and announced.

  5. All protests must be filed at the timing desk no later than fifteen (15) minutes past the end of the posting of the results for the event in question. All protests must be accompanied by a $100.00 CASH deposit that is non-refundable if the protest is denied by the Board of Directors.

 

All vehicles and equipment may stay on grounds until Monday, Oct 8th and should be removed by 11 am. This will be dry camping and reservations must be made with the administration office.
